There’s something about black and i think it is a perennial color du jour for me. I believe it’s quite chic and never falters.

Does it have a cool edge? Yes! And it does glue to everything you own. I consider black the “ I’ve arrived color” rather than where am I going?

Guess what? I’m not talking about that dour and dreary funeral black that washes you out. But the dynamic and urban way of combining fabrications and cuts that’s grown-up, classy, and very Parisian, or any metropolitan city like Lagos, for that matter.

You may say other basics like white play right in to the refined mix and black absorbs heat more than a lighter shade, but do you know it also camouflages sweat stains, and helps you look pulled together at the same time.

When you wear the chic noir look…

Create a core wardrobe of well-cut black pieces. Trust me; they will become your favorites

Ensure to be in the mix with colors serving as an accent…. even crazy bright color, if you like.

Black may be perceived to be slenderizing, but tailoring the fit to perfection will seal the deal.

Do you feel that black washes you out, try a brighter lipstick or super gloss. It’s the color that’s the background for all else.

What other chic noir ideas do you have?
