Creative Nigerian label iamISIGO, led by designer Bubu Ogisi, has released a lookbook for the Autumn/Winter 15/16 collection “East of West”

The designers states that the collection is inspired by parallels between the designer’s youth and the 1950s American film Calamity Jane which stars the ebullient Doris Day, chronicling the adventures of the character Jane, who embraces the duality of her lifestyle out in the Wild West – drawing from the masculine as a tomboy and then from her more feminine side as a woman in pursuit of love.

The collection is made up of  silk, crepe de chine, cotton-poly blend, light tweeds, cotton twine, poly-amide twine and mohair wool fabric in white, black, grey, silver and pops of bright yellow, and cowboy/girl influenced pieces.

Also infused in this collection are Boxy shirts and poncho evoking tops, heavily flared pants and sleeker dresses that are made using the crochet technique and the textural accent of the year, fringing, reflecting the two influences of the masculine Western style and the softer feminine side.

Quite edgy and abstract we love the collection.
