Jeremy Scott’s first collection for Moschino was taken to a whole new level as the creative director brought drama to the set. The designer brought back a creative concept of consumer culture in Fashion, with a collection of dresses, robe coats in Mcdonalds colors. As Katy Perry and Rita Ora opened up the show,
What a show of imagination when the iconic Milan label, reconfigured McDonald’s golden arches as its heart designs. The collection also exhibited a twist of Coco Chanel, with a cow print dress and a chain bag. Then there were duffle bags, boots, sweaters, pants and coats printed with the face of SpongeBob, SquarePants and lots more from Budweiser and Frito-Lay couture. What next could the fashion show present if it had not stooped at its Finale “couture” collection which was a presentation of design of a “wedding dress” upon which a nutrition label was largely printed
There has been different response from fashion enthusiasts and fashion editors, going from elation to horrified, because this was supposed to be a revive for the brand. For me it was Impressive and edgy, at least the buzz has kept everyone talking. Maybe we will just have to eat up all these models. At least Katy Perry who opened the show for Moschino and her friends in the front row were eating them up already. I think it will recreate a revamp for the fashion house at least accessories were highly noticed by all.
It was quite a satirical presentation but lovely all the same. The way forward is to see how to rock these pieces from runway to real life so over to you stylisitas. What’s your style take on this?
